OpenAI has now restored the services after outage

ChatGPT was unable to load and work on July 16th, 2025. Now, according to the official information, ChatGPT services are now restored. The official OpenAI Status website now clarifies that there are no active issues known to affect the ChatGPT services at the moment. Users on the web and mobile can now continue to use ChatGPT as and when intended.

The downtime affected users across the US and other major countries of the world. Several report suggested that almost 82 per cent of global users reported significant issues with the chatbot, affecting the usage scenario.

Here’s the OpenAI statement, “We’re currently experiencing issues. Elevated Error Rates on ChatGPT record mode, Sora and Codex. We have identified that users are experiencing elevated errors for the impacted services.” The company had assured that it will be working on the fixes at the time.

OpenAI eventually identified the root cause of the issue and release the fix, although the company didn’t reveal what bothered the world’s favourite AI chatbot.

Users are advised to monitor OpenAI’s official status pages for further updates related to the availability of ChatGPT services.
